-
- That is actually pretty good. I have a Hayes Optima 28.8K PCMCIA Modem
- and I can get around 1.5k-2.0k. With my Intel 14.4k, I can get about 1.2-1.4k.
-
- Anyways, on the Optima, I set my DTE speed to 230k.

- !: I have also the same setup, and transfer speed is as low as 0,5 cps.
- !: This problem will be gone, if you buy a new serial-port with 16650
- !: UART. You probably just have 8250 UART, which was supplied with
- !: old-PCs. They don't have a buffer, and tend to slow down transfer
- !: rates. The serial port, can't keep up with the large amount of data
- !: transfered by the modem, and the modem have to keep repeating the
- !: transfer-operation over and over again..
- !
- !: So, buy a 16650 UART serial port. I will.... :)
- !
- !If you want more speed buy internal modems wich have 16650 UART's
- !internally.
